Raw juices are packed with living enzymes to assist the digestive process, which means your digestive system, liver and pancreas do not have to work very hard to extract almost 99% of the nutrients within the raw vegetables and fruits. Common mistakes!

Juicing is a very powerful nutritional therapy, but most people misapply this therapy by preparing mostly fruit juices (or by using an inferior juicer). But remember that too much concentrated sugar, even if it comes from fresh organic fruit can be detrimental to health, elevating blood sugar levels and increasing susceptibility to high sugar conditions such as Candida Albicans and more severe illnesses. As a healthier (but still delicious!) balance, we prefer the ratio of juicing 3 vegetables to 1 fruit. If you are suffering from an acute illness then we suggest as a precaution that you juice only vegetables until you are better and can begin to introduce some fruits into the blend.

Alkalise yourself!

Disease simply cannot exist in an alkalized and oxygenated body. Green juices (and green smoothies) have an alkaline reaction in the body and help protect against acid build-up as well as stimulate the body to manufacture hemoglobin. Green juices contain organic water, the purest most natural water available to us, and they cleanse the body of the waste within the cells and tissues. Green juices (and green smoothies) also contain an abundance of chlorophyll, which is a molecule whose structure is almost exactly the same as the hemoglobin molecule of the human blood. Chlorophyll helps to oxygenate the blood, repair tissue and is also very important in helping to remove toxins from the body.

Enzymes are lost in packaged, pasteurized juices!

One of the major health benefits of juicing is that it is an easy way to get beneficial enzymes, which are primarily found in raw foods, into the body. Commercially made fruit and vegetable juices have been processed in a way that alters their natural state rendering them devoid of vital nutrients and life-force. They are lacking all important enzymes and without them they are a sugary, practically dead food for the body. On the other hand, enzymes in fresh fruits and vegetables have the vital role of converting food into body tissue and energy. Enzymes are also involved in metabolism, so one of the more valuable health benefits of juicing is that it can increase metabolic rate. Juicing also ensures that the body is getting sufficient amounts of phytochemicals, substances in plants that are considered among the most powerful ways to fight disease. While most people do not eat enough raw fruits and vegetables to obtain the amount of phytochemicals that would make a difference, it is relatively easy to drink enough juice to obtain sufficient amounts of these powerful nutrients. In addition, antioxidants and other immune enhancing properties are concentrated in juices.

For example, Brussel sprouts and string beans are known to contain insulin-like substances that can be beneficial to Type 2 diabetics, and especially Type 1 diabetics. Which Juicer — Masticator or Centrifugal

The quality of your juice is important so your machine also needs to be of good quality. There are generally two types of juicers on the market today. One spins centrifugally at high speeds pushing the juice through a fine mesh. The other type is a masticator using a slow, strong turning motion that literally grinds the fruit & vegetable fibers to release the juice. Most importantly this is the only type of juicer that is also able to extract the juice from green leaves and grasses.

Both work well, but both work differently. In our opinion, for long-term juicing it pays off to invest in the Omega type juicer to optimize the health benefits of not only fruit but the all important health promoting green juices.

Store bought vs. Freshly juiced!

What is the difference between Freshly made and store bought:
Quite simply it is a matter of live enzymes – aliveness. Store bought juice, (no matter how pure) has been pasteurized (heated) which kills most of the health promoting enzymes turning into an unnatural, nutritionally depleted sugary drink.
Store bought juices do not have the same positive effect as fresh and will add to weight gain and problems caused by too much sugar in the diet – such as Candida albacans.
